I have to admit I have had a bit of a struggle determining where to land on this issue myself. I totally agree that laws were not established to get people to comply with a certain set of personal or religious preferences, but I am still hesitant to say that supporting gay marriage will not have a detrimental effect on society. That being said, I am not even sure that matters with regard to one’s rights to do as they please so long as their choice does not infringe upon the rights of another.

I actually have a forum post about this on my website. I would be glad to have you weigh in there if you like.
