Reading the Bible on a daily basis is a very important thing to do, and for more than one reason. Besides the fact that reading it will teach you more about your faith, it brings a sort of stability to your life. If you work a hectic schedule like me, you certainly need all the stability you can get!

But what if your schedule is constantly changing? How do you choose an appropriate time to read your Bible if you’re like me and some days you go to work at 5:30 in the morning?! Maybe some people have more will power than I do, but I’m not getting up at 3 AM so I can get a solid block of time in to read that early. Besides, I’ve found that for me, my “engine oil” doesn’t quite get up to temperature until about 8 or 9 in the morning even when I start working that early. Last year I started a new job with a schedule that had me getting up as early as 4 in the morning sometimes, and other times I don’t have to be at work until 8, so it really threw my schedule off. Unfortunately, my Bible reading habit took a turn for the worse. This year I am determined to get it back on track, and I’m including some ideas that have helped me in the past.
